The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
is not winter...at least in my book. It is Fall. I love Autumn--everything about it makes me happy. The beautiful colors, the pumpkins, apples and most of all, the crisp air that tells you, "Hot Apple Cider Time!"
Jack and I have been enjoying this, our first fall together. Our walks are more pleasant now that the humidity and heat are gone. They are much more humorous now though as Jack does not like walking through leaves that have fallen off of the trees, so he will "hopscotch" his way through them! It's very entertaining.
Evenings of brisk, cool air are here. Evenings of porch-sitting and Hot-Spiced-Cider-drinking. It makes me not want to lesson plan, but to enjoy the season, as it is not one that lasts very long...only a moment really...and then winter will be here.
Winter has it's good points though. Snow-days for one. I have a feeling I will enjoy them more this year than any other school year! (Especially with so many more students than I've had before!) I love each season for it's own reasons. However, I must admit, I really only like summer because I get that season "off" from teaching. That is my season to recouperate. I don't have to think about that now though...nope, only the Fall. That's what I will think of--Fall and it's beautiful colors, smells and whisperings.
Welcome Fall.
